In a Pandemic where the rate of infection is parabolic, the initial reaction fo the disease needs to be quick and decisive. In downplaying the Coronavirus pandemic in February and not ordering life-saving ventilators, the Trump administration ceded a window of opportunity that could have saved countless lives. According to Ford’s timeline, if the Trump administration had reacted to an acute shortage of ventilators in February, the joint effort between Ford and General Elecric might have produced life-saving equipment in mid to late April instead of the now projected June. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/24/us/politics/coronavirus-ventilators.html
A History of Trump’s Coronavirus Lies
This is a pretty damning ad showing Trumps inadequate response to the Coronavirus outbreak. He may never take responsibility for his inactions during the initial spread of the virus, but we have his own words to remind us of his lack of foresight and leadership in dealing with this crisis. Let’s vote this clown out of office on November 3rd.
A Moment of Truth
What a strange moment it is when at Game 5 of the world series, the camera focuses on Trump and the president quickly realizes that the crowd is not cheering him – they are booing and chanting “Lock Him Up”. When faced with a crowd that is not handpicked, the bitter reality that most people dislike him is almost too much for him to bear, especially on the weekend wear he was expecting praise for authorizing the al-Baghdadi takedown. It almost seems like he is holding back tears. Deep down he knows his situation is going to get worse – much worse. Impeachment is coming and his dark secrets will soon be revealed for the world to see.
Bill Weld Calls Trump’s Actions Treasonous
Republican governor Bill Weld is calling Trump’s attempt to interfere with US elections “treasonous” and reminding people that the penalty for treason is death. “Talk about pressuring a foreign country to interfere with and control a U.S. election. It couldn’t be clearer, and that’s not just undermining democratic institutions. That is treason. It’s treason, pure and simple, and the penalty for treason under the U.S. code is death. That’s the only penalty.”
While I think the death penalty is a bit extreme, I would support imprisonment for life in a maximum security prison. Personally, I wouldn’t even mind if he wanted to brand it. #TreasonousTrump #TrumpCrimeFamily#Impeach45 #LockHImUp
What An Honor
“…My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!…” – Percy Bysshe Shelley
Last night Trump hosted Clemson, the national College Football Champions. You might think that a “Billionaire” president would spring for hot catering – but you would be wrong. Somewhere in Trump’s mind, nothing says “We Salute Your Accomplishments…” like cold fast food.
Owning Trump with a Public Handshake
This video is quite telling – Vladimir Putin high-fives Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud at the G20 while Trump lumbers into the room by himself in the background. This is no normal handshake, and it makes one wonder what they could be so festive about. One logical guess is that Putin and Al Saud might be celebrating that they both have the “goods” (blackmail material) on Trump, and that they can now simply do whatever they want without repercussions from the United States. The fact that Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to this week to lying to Congress about Trump Orgs relationship with Moscow during the campaign is just one of many arguments why this may be the case. Now that the Dems will have subpoena power (starting in January), we may finally get some answers to these questions.
Donald Trump and Kanye West – A DeJa Vu of Sorts
Mark Twain once said that History doesn’t repeat itself, but if often rhymes. Today’s meeting between Kanye and Trump reminded me a bit of Sammy Davis Jr. and Nixon. If you haven’t heard Malcom Gladwell’s Revisionist History podcast on the Nixon and Davis, “The Hug Heard Round the World”, it is worth listening too. There is some weird similarity here, but to be fair to Sammy, the 60s were a different time. Kanye, having grown up in today’s world, should have known better. http://revisionisthistory.com/…/26-the-hug-heard-round-the-…
The Senate voted today, you get to vote on Nov. 6th
The Republican’s push to get Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court is a slap in the face to any American who believes that the Supreme Court should consist of exceptional justices, not just partisan hacks who perjure themselves and lie throughout their hearings. That being said, it was always a long shot that the Democrats would be able to stop Kavanaugh’s nomination. In our hyper-partisan political environment, majorities provide the only power, and the Democrats don’t have majorities in neither the house or the Senate. (more…)
Trump’s Moment of Honesty
On his recent trip to Singapore, Donald Trump was asked whether he believes Kim Jong-un would actually destroy a nuclear test site and return American POW remains. His response:
“Honestly, I think he’s going to do these things. I may be wrong, I mean I may stand before you in six months and say, hey, I was wrong — I don’t know that I’ll ever admit that, but I’ll find some kind of an excuse.”
By admitting that he’ll make excuses if things don’t work out with North Korea, Trump is being honest. In fact, this may be the most honest thing Trump has said since he’s been president.
